The Titanic was the largest ship of its time. Whose full name was Royal Mail ship (RMS) Titanic? It was designed in such a way that 2224 people could travel in it. The responsibility of building this ship was given to the White Star Line Company. Which was a British shipping company and it was prepared by a team of about 3000 workers and 9 laborers also lost their lives in making it. 40 workers were seriously injured. At that time, the cost of making this ship was about 48 crores, which was very high according to that time. This ship was a ten-story ship, this ship itself looked like a small town in the Atlantic. Its special thing was that it was the fastest moving ship in the world. And the whistling in it could be heard up to 15 km away. The company that built this ship also claimed that it was a never-sinking ship, but who knew that a huge ship like Titanic could ever sink in water. In such a situation, this question must have come to everyone’s mind that what happened that night that the world’s strongest ship sank in the water today.
Building the titanic
It took 3 years to build the Titanic and the most expensive advanced technology was used at that time to make Titanic. On 1 April 1912, the ship was left at sea for experimentation. After this, the Titanic traveled at a speed of 150 km in the sea from Belfast to Iris Rivers in its experiment. And at this time many big company officials were present in the ship, after which the Titanic returned to Belfast at 7:30 in the evening and the experiment was considered successful. After the experiment was successful, on 2 April 1912, the Titanic officially lounged for the voyage. And with this Titanic has registered its name in the pages of history. At that time no other ship could compete with the Titanic. A class, B class, and C classrooms were present in this ship, the ticket for K A class was two lakh seventy thousand to travel. The second class ticket was one lakh and the third class ticket was 20000. Apart from this, all the facilities of the passengers in Titanic were taken care of. A swimming pool, yoga, room- expensive cafe, entertainment games were also built inside it. The most advanced electricity system was also installed in it. It also has a library for first class and second class. was present. Apart from this, 4 lifts were also installed in Titanic for first class and second class passengers.
Titanic’s first voyage Its first journey was to be decided from South Hampton in England to New York City in America. The Titanic’s captain was Edward Smith. The time was on April 10 at 12:00 O clock in the night when Titanic left with its 2200 passengers. Many rich people were present on this ship and Jacob, the richest person of that time, was also present in the ship. The people aboard the ship did not know that the ship on which they were aboard would never reach their destination. The Titanic had already passed South Hampton. Strong winds were blowing all around in the sea, due to which the weather was also cool. At the same time, the ship’s first officer ordered to increase the speed of the Titanic so that it would surprise the passengers and the media by reaching America before time. Titanic was moving in the evening light. It had been almost three days since this ship had left for the journey. There had also been an accident in the Titanic so far. Actually, there was a fire in the lower part of the Titanic which could have become a danger to all the passengers present on the ship. However, this fire had already started as soon as the ship was sailing. And all the officers had come to know about this but despite this, those people did not even let the passengers know about it, because if anyone came to know, then this journey could have to be canceled. At the same time, all the tickets of Titanic were already sold, in such a situation the company would have incurred heavy losses.
Last day of travel
The fifth day of travel Titanic was moving fast in the Atlantic Ocean and the day was Sunday, April 14, the night of April 14, there was a lot of peace in the sea, the moon was not even present in the sky and there was thick darkness. The captain of the ship could not see anything. Before the Titanic hit the iceberg, 6 warnings had already come to the captain that many large ice cubes were present on the way. With which the ship could collide at any time, but the captain did not know that the Titanic would collide with an iceberg. At that time it happened that the iceberg was not visible due to the thick darkness in front. And a short time later, at about 11:40 pm, the sixth Officer James Smooth’s telephone rang, on which the officer was informed that there was also a large iceberg on the way from which he had to avoid. She set sail on 10 April 1912, on her maiden voyage from Southampton (England). After a four-day voyage, on 14 April 1912, it collided with an iceberg and sank, killing 1,517 people in one of the greatest peacetime maritime disasters in history.
